04 December 09 - Provincial Archives of New Brunswick has released New Brunswick Legislative Assembly records for period of 1786 to 1833. These, and other vital records, can be searched online at http://archives.gnb.ca/APPS/GovRecs/VISSE/?culture=en-CA

20 July 09 - Provincial Archives of New Brunswick has released the 1914 NB Late Registration of Births records to public. These, and other vital records, can be searched online at http://archives.gnb.ca/APPS/GovRecs/VISSE/?culture=en-CA

18 July 09 - St. George Museum official opens. Located at the Day Adventure Center, the museum offers a glimpse into the areas past with old photos and artifacts.

15 July 09 - Charlotte County Archives are holding a number of events this summer. On July 19, David Sanger of the University of Orono, “The Archeology of Passamaquoddy Bay, Before the Europeans”. The lecture begins at 7:30 pm at the Anglican Church Hall in St. Andrews. On July 26, David Sullivan, speaking on the History of Journalism. This lecture will start at 7:30 pm at the Anglican Church Hall, St. Andrews. The achives will be having a yard sale on Aug. lst, from l0:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Court House, St. Andrews. Donations for the Yard Sale welcome. Come and support the work of the Archives. Then their annual events, the "Goal Sleepover" will take place on Aug. 11th and Aug. 18th. This event is for youth between the ages 8 to l2. The event consists of a Ghost Tour of St. Andrews, Mock Trial in the Court House, and Ghost Hunting Experience and will take place from 8:pm to 8:am. 21 June 09 - There are several major cultural events scheduled in the province this summer. 1) 26th Canada's Irish Festival in Miramichi from July 16 to 19, 2009. Plenty of traditional music and genealogical exhibits... a real craic! For more information, please visit http://www.canadasirishfest.com/. 2) The 4th World Acadian Congress is being held in New Brunswick's Acadian Peninsula from August 7 to 23, 2009. This event is held every 5 years and besides tradition music and cuisine for both Acadians and Cajans, there is also genealogy lectures and exhibits plus countless families reunions. 20 June 09 - The National Archives of Ireland are making great progress in electronically transcribing the 1911 Census of Ireland. To date the counties of Dublin, Antrim, Down, Kerry, Cork, Donegal, Galway, King's County (Offaly) and Wexford with future releases of the remaining counties before the end of the year. These records are available online at http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/.
